ADSL Software Client

Overview

RECOL recommends and supports the use of router and/or firewall appliances for connecting customer systems to the Internet.

RECOL does not support connection via direct computer connection supported by networking software.

Some applications may use software clients on workstations (single connection) or servers (multiple connection) environments. Although RECOL does not provide software clients they are available on the WEB. Their use however, will curtail RECOL staff's ability to provide support beyond troubleshooting DSL Modem connectivity.

Windows Support

Efficient Networks provides a client that can be purchased and downloaded via the WEB. As of this writing, Summer 2002, the following links and version information applies. However the site may change and versions upgraded, so please bear this in mind when browsing the site:

Linux and Unix Support

Some customers have successfully tested PPPoE support on Linux and Unix systems. RECOL is not aware of any customers using this approach in production environments.
